FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • Regular attendance is key to making the most out of therapy.

Ideally, establishing a routine by scheduling sessions at the same time each week can significantly benefit the therapeutic process. As we progress and you start feeling more confident in applying the skills you've learned, we may decide together to space out sessions a bit more.

  • The goal of the first sessions are for us to get to know each other better. It’s also for me to learn in depth what you hope to gain from personalized therapy. We will also work towards building a roadmap to help drive you towards your life goals.

  • Therapy is much like investing in your overall health and well-being. It's about growth, learning new skills, and finding sustainable solutions that resonate with you personally.

Having a trained therapist can offer a fresh, objective perspective. Along with providing tools and strategies that you might not have considered before.

The true benefit of therapy, however, depends on your engagement with the process. It’s about taking what you learn in sessions and applying it to your daily life. This active participation is what turns insights into actions, leading to the kind of personal transformation that lasts.

Just as plants don't bloom overnight, the issues we address in therapy have often taken root over a number of months to years. Our aim is deep-seeded, sustainable growth, not just quick fixes. We're nurturing a space for lasting change, allowing you to cultivate insight and work through layers of complexity at your own comfortable pace.

  • Teletherapy brings more convenient therapy into your life. It eliminates the need to rearrange your whole schedule around appointments. It also reduces the likelihood of missed sessions due to common disruptions, such as bad weather, commute time, minor illnesses, last-minute childcare issues, etc.

With telehealth, you’re also able to arrive to the session from the comforts of your home or a familiar private space.

  • Psychotherapy values the entirety of your life experiences. In other words, it goes beyond just surface level fixes and conversations.

For example, many individuals carry past hurts and trauma histories that have shaped their current lives, beliefs or identity. All of which can manifest as relationship issues, depression, anxiety, or self-sabotaging actions, to name a few.

Within the therapeutic space, I also like to address or take the time to heal past wounds that are still holding you back today. This healing process transforms past burdens into sources of strength. It's pretty liberating because it paves the way for new life possibilities.

At its core, psychotherapy respects you as a whole person, often avoiding the stance of generic categories or rigid treatment plans. It involves a thorough exploration and we'll craft a dynamic treatment plan that adjusts as you evolve, while supporting your growth and change throughout our partnership together.
